post SF & LA renegade craft fair

I always like the Fort Mason venue, an indoor high ceiling well-lighted structure. When I want to take a break during the fair, just exit the building, there would be a panoramic view of the bay. One the left you can see golden gate bridge, Alcatraz in the center, east bay and piers on the right.

Adventure : New York

As you know, my friend and I went to New York for the renegade craft fair show. We flew there 2 days before the fair and spent a little time roaming in new york.

Love:
1. Lobster Place
This pace is inside the Chelsea Market. Lots of variety of fresh seafood. My friend and I order a Lobster ,a sushi platter, and a squid salad. It was yummy! The good thing about this place is that you can select your own lobster and they will stream and cut for you.
2. Metropolitan Museum
I always read review about museum and those people who wrote it always said “you need to spend a day here.” And after visiting metropolitan, I would say “you really need to spend a day there.” The collection is HUGH. My friend and I got there late morning, spend 2 hours and just covered a small portion. We got out for lunch and popped back in until they closed at 8:45pm, and we still haven’t covered everything.
3. Dessert in Little Italy
One night, we had our dinner at de gennaro at little italy. The main course is just okay, but the dessert is a surprising delicious! We ordered a tiramisu and a creme brulee.

Hate:
1. Bed Bug
I have heard new york’s bed bug problem before, but I didn’t think that it would happen to me. I got pretty bad bed bug bite on my face and arms. Won’t show the picture here to lower your appetite. But people out there (yes, you!) should be careful about it when you go to new york.
2. Subway
Yes I know. It is very convenient going from place to place, BUT not when we have 2 baggages, especially in this summer weather.

Despite the bed bug bite, I did enjoy my new york business/leisure trip very much.

buluchu + bazaar bizarre + california academy of science

Just came back home from the California Academy Nightlife event. Sale is just……..okay (sigh -_-“) but the venue is GREAT!!! (thumbs up) It’s my first time at the museum and nightlife. My booth is in the Piazza area which i think it’s the best, much more foot traffic then most other places in the museum.

Sorry for the poor quality photo. I forgot to take my camera, so those were taken from my cell phone.

(left) My booth with my boothmate The Little Red House. It’s nice that the spot light is right above us and shine on our table 🙂
(right) Bazaar Bizarre Craft Station. I saw them making some felt stuff!!! I wanted to go there and make…….something 😛 but i gotta stay in my booth (sad) 😦

event :: nightlife @ the academy of science

As a San Franciscan, living 5 blocks away from Golden Gate Park, it is kinda embarrassing to say that I have never been to the newly renovated The California Academy of Science Museum. But HEY! I will be there on July 14th for the Nightlife x Bazaar Bizarre event!!! Yayy!!!

Yes, you can not only check out the cool science exhibitions and interesting architectural structure, but also shop and party inside the museum. How cool is that!! I will be there with my fellow partner The Little Red House. Come check it out to see my new handbag line 🙂

Date: July 14th, 2011 Thursday

Time: 6pm-10pm
Place: The California Academy of Science Museum @ Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. (55 Music Concourse Drive, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA 94118)

Friendly reminder: this event is for 21 years old or above. If you are planning to purchase any alcoholic drink, please don’t forget to bring your ID 😉

Enjoy 🙂

nice venue :)

A picture of our table in the New People Cherry Blossom Event San Francisco Japan Town. Picture taken by The Little Red House.

As always :P, our table is jam packed with our handmade goodies. On the left you can see The Little Red House’s prints and paper products. “Monday Bear” is my favorite painting of hers. On the right, you can see my Animal Scarfs, Piano Wristlet Purses, Traveler Passport Organizers, and my new Handbag line. You can find most of them in my shop. Moving towards the center, it’s our new collaborated vintage style jewelry line.

I have to say, this is a great event and venue. It’s inside the new people building, thus we don’t need to worry about the unpredictable san francisco weather. The crowd is great, a wide range of customers, youngs, seniors, families, pets :D. And good range of vendors too, and I will see some of them again in Makers Faire San Mateo in May 21st-22nd.

stay tuned for up-coming fairs 😀
